All our leashes are hand-assembled here in Squamish, British Columbia and inspected personally. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, we'll replace or refund your leash for free.

*The carabiners on our leashes are compatible with just about every collar or harness as you can either clip directly to the collar or on any leash attachment ring or point. However, they do not have a swivel function so they are not compatible with metal-pronged choke-chain style collars or any collar that requires a swivel function.

What size leash should I choose?

We now offer 3 main leash sizes, 4 foot, 5 foot, and 6 foot. Each has their advantages but it really comes down to your dog, the environment you walk them in, and your personal preference. 5 foot leashes are the more traditional length and good for all around. 4 foot leashes are good for dogs who spend a lot of time off-leash and just on leash while getting to and from the trailhead, or if you generally want more control over your dog. 6 foot leashes are great for those dogs who like to sniff and roam and don't have the tendency to pull, and it's a good length to also use to tether to posts, trees, etc.

Still not sure which one to choose? Read on:

4 foot leash

Sometimes referred to as a "city leash" or a short-walker leash, 4 foot leashes are on the short end of a dog leash. Generally people who walk in busy areas, near roadways, or in any environment where they'd like to keep their dog close to them prefer a shorter leash. It's also easier if you have a puller who's harder to manage on leash. For us, we prefer the 4 foot leash most of the time because we like to have our dogs close and controlled until we get to the trailhead where we then let them off leash to run and explore at their will. They also take up less room in your pack or easily and comfortably sling over one shoulder for easy access when your dog is off leash.

Cons of the 4 foot leash are that the dog doesn't have much room to sniff, explore, and wander while on-leash, meaning he may pull you around this way and that. The shorter leash also doesn't leave much spare room to tie your dog up while you run into your local coffee shop.

5 foot leash

This is the leash size you'll find as your "standard" leash in most pet stores. It's a great all-arounder and if you are in doubt, we'd get this one. You can always double it up (clip the handle end of the leash to the opposite-end carabiner before attaching it to your dog) for a nice and short city leash.

Cons are that it doesn't sling across your shoulders as comfortably as the 4 footer, and you don't have as much versatility with the 6 foot for tethering to posts, etc.

6 foot leash

The 6 foot leash is a more standard-to-long length of leash, allowing your dog space to zig zag about, sniff on this, pee on that, and just do dog stuff while still on lead. It's also the ideal length if you want to tether them up (and super easy and secure with the locking carabiner on our leashes.)

Cons include having to choke up on the leash when needing more control in busy areas or with dogs who get distracted easily (a good tip is tying an overhand knot on a bite in the middle of the leash, and using an extra carabiner to clip the handle to the bite in the middle of the leash if you want to shorten it on the fly.) Other cons are it being bulkier in your pack, and not as comfortable to wear yourself (Miss America style) while the pupper is off leash.

Strong and Durable!

Finally a dog leash that can hold up for all the adventures! We have the 4 foot length leash. Generally I would go for a longer leash but this changed the game for me and my dog. I like be able to have lots of control on our dog walks. The locking carabiner is super strong and Suz is a pleasure to deal with. PS if you're a rock climber you definitely need one of these leashes for the crag.

Excellent Product, handle might be improved.

Excellent Product, handle might be improved. The quality and longevity of the leash is excellent. You will feel it the moment you grab the leash. But the loop starts to burn my skin after a short while of walking my dog. This is because the rope is smooth and slips right out of the hand and then it burns. Overall, very happy with the product and would definitely buy again.

Amazing quality!

Absolutely love! Suz was quick to respond to my questions and helped me order both a custom length and regular length leash (midnight and peppermint). The leash feels super strong, is nice to hold, and the carabiner is light and works easily with a Halti or collar. Very happy with this purchase - thank you!

Love this Leash! Great Quality

We purchased a 6ft leash, in Midnight. It's so sleek and feels so nice in your hand. The carabiner is so strong, lightweight, and I love that it locks. The leash feels strong and sturdy. I was a little anxious that the carabiner would be too heavy for his Halti, to hang off his face. It's actually lighter than the traditional clip on his old leash. The best part is supporting a Canadian business. I can't wait to buy more!
