Extra carabiners are a great add on to expand the functionality of your leash, and good to have on hand! Here's a few of our favourite ways to use an extra biner. 

-Clip an extra carabiner to the handle of your leash to be able to clip it to you (beltloop, backpack, or around your waist, back to the leash itself) for hands-free leash operation.

-Clip it to itself when tying your pup up around a hitching post or tree while you run in and grab your morning coffee.

-If you have a 6 foot leash and want to temporarily make it shorter, just tie a quick overhand knot on a bite in the middle of your leash, and clip the extra carabiner to both that and your handle, making a new handle and shorter leash.
