Waterproof collar - Glacier Blue

Regular price $26.99

Does your dog smell bad? Chances are, it's probably their collar! We designed this collar after getting tired of the lingering musty smell from our water-loving, muddy puddle jumping, adventure dog's collar.

Our waterproof collars are made of a polyurethane coated nylon webbing, so it's extremely durable and looks and feels similar to leather, while being completely vegan (including the stitched on vegan leather label.) Extremely easy to clean and will stay looking new for the long term.

  • 100% waterproof
  • 100% stink proof
  • 100% vegan

Our collars are adjustable but we highly suggest measuring your dog's neck (add an inch or so) and using the sizing chart below:

XS: 8-12 inches (Chihuahua, Toy Poodle)

Small: 10-14 inches (Jack Russel, Boston Terrier)

Medium: 13-18 inches (Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, Blue Heeler)

Large: 16-21 inches (Golden Retriever, Labrador, Doberman)

XL: 19-24 inches (German Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog)

For Small, Medium, and Large collars, you can choose between 3/4" width or 1" width.

Hardware (buckle, D-ring, rivets) comes in a powder-coated black option or a stainless steel option.

All collars now come with a black polyurethane strap keeper between the D-ring and the buckle.

What size leash should I choose?

We now offer 3 main leash sizes, 4 foot, 5 foot, and 6 foot. Each has their advantages but it really comes down to your dog, the environment you walk them in, and your personal preference. 5 foot leashes are the more traditional length and good for all around. 4 foot leashes are good for dogs who spend a lot of time off-leash and just on leash while getting to and from the trailhead, or if you generally want more control over your dog. 6 foot leashes are great for those dogs who like to sniff and roam and don't have the tendency to pull, and it's a good length to also use to tether to posts, trees, etc.

Still not sure which one to choose? Read on:

4 foot leash

Sometimes referred to as a "city leash" or a short-walker leash, 4 foot leashes are on the short end of a dog leash. Generally people who walk in busy areas, near roadways, or in any environment where they'd like to keep their dog close to them prefer a shorter leash. It's also easier if you have a puller who's harder to manage on leash. For us, we prefer the 4 foot leash most of the time because we like to have our dogs close and controlled until we get to the trailhead where we then let them off leash to run and explore at their will. They also take up less room in your pack or easily and comfortably sling over one shoulder for easy access when your dog is off leash.

Cons of the 4 foot leash are that the dog doesn't have much room to sniff, explore, and wander while on-leash, meaning he may pull you around this way and that. The shorter leash also doesn't leave much spare room to tie your dog up while you run into your local coffee shop.

5 foot leash

This is the leash size you'll find as your "standard" leash in most pet stores. It's a great all-arounder and if you are in doubt, we'd get this one. You can always double it up (clip the handle end of the leash to the opposite-end carabiner before attaching it to your dog) for a nice and short city leash.

Cons are that it doesn't sling across your shoulders as comfortably as the 4 footer, and you don't have as much versatility with the 6 foot for tethering to posts, etc.

6 foot leash

The 6 foot leash is a more standard-to-long length of leash, allowing your dog space to zig zag about, sniff on this, pee on that, and just do dog stuff while still on lead. It's also the ideal length if you want to tether them up (and super easy and secure with the locking carabiner on our leashes.)

Cons include having to choke up on the leash when needing more control in busy areas or with dogs who get distracted easily (a good tip is tying an overhand knot on a bite in the middle of the leash, and using an extra carabiner to clip the handle to the bite in the middle of the leash if you want to shorten it on the fly.) Other cons are it being bulkier in your pack, and not as comfortable to wear yourself (Miss America style) while the pupper is off leash.

Perfect for the 'bog dog'

Our dog loves to jump in every muddy bog he comes across and the collar has been great - easy to clean and not stinky or soggy. Thanks and will recommend to friends!
